Wrangler Shoes

Wrangler ShoesWhy the brake shoes on my 95 Jeep Wrangler a bit of a tight fit?

I put new on, and the drummer was a little tight, but I got on and had to do a test ride and the brakes felt a little and smoked a little, I took again, and it wasn't so bad, so Im sure its jus about worn to its shape, but is there to do so early and so I turned back before I took it out Driving

The dial out must be used to produce a slight drag on the drum. You need a brake spoon to do this. When reassembling with new shoes, it should be taken into slid the battery. Then, with the two rear wheels on the ground (crutches) to use the setting is used to produce the right amount of drag. Just a little.

Once you drag slightly as Old Man Dirt suggested that you need to backtrack at each setting so that the trail disappears. To reduce the adjusters, you must hold the adjuster lever setting away from the star so that you can go back.

With what do you need to equalize the automatic setting.

To do this you must drive forward and brake to a complete stop (stops running are not good because they do not activate the setting. Then go backwards and the brake to stop Complete. Repeat front to back motions eight to ten times.

This is basically the process described in the factory repair manual. It's the right way to do it. I did mine this way recently on my 97 TJ (who shares the same rear drum setup) and my rear brakes are working perfectly.
