Is it important for my shoes to the specific road or mountain bike shoes will work well? i commute a total of 20 miles per day 5-6 days a week. This amounts to the city and my foot will leave the foot lot at the traffic light. I plan on riding long distances in the future. I had a little trouble finding the trail specific shoes in my price range and size. I have a foot wide. I found the mega Sidi and they do form, but Im just entering the sport and instant messaging is not ready to give up 150 on shoes. I found some beads that correspond to and theft, but they are biking. I just have to get out of these clips before you kill me.
MTB shoes excellent work. I use it for everything except racing. This includes the shuttle, the fast formation, long epic rides, etc. around town is great because you can walk in them.
They tend to be a little heavier, and maybe just a little less efficient, but do not worry.
Thank you everyone
I ended up buying a pair of Sidi Mega balls in size because I have really wide feet, and a pair of pedals Time ATAC alium to go with them. I love them! My journey is more enjoyable. to the extent they laugh, I wasn't concerned, but I understand the warnings. Flag
For purposes of your MTB shoes you would be much better because they usually have a recessed cleat so you can walk on them.
Shimano M520 Pedals Use proven.
agree, would not be in their course, but if there comfortable go for it!
I do not know if that's what you want, but my boss swears on shoes Mechanix. Good Luck
You'll be the laughingstock of roadie snobs decadent. And thats a good thing.
Wear shoes and bike you will be happier. Get road shoes when you buy the pedals drive (yes another expense) and plan on driving long distances while remaining cut at any time. Leave the clips in the comfort of the car. You will appreciate the difference.
I ride long rides and love my mountain type shoes which are really more like hiking shoes with recessed cleats SPD. As I and some of my buds bike say "once you go DPS, you can not go back." I can walk like a normal person in my shoes, got the rigidity and the ability to clip my pedals. I can easily unclip when I need and I can really pull hard on the hills, too. clippin You'll love it!
And remember, just like your mother said, these people will blame you're just jealous! Wear shoes that are right for you!
I have been riding with cycling shoes (and pedals with cleats) on both my mountain bike and road bike for nearly 20 years.
Both use an eggbeater-style pedal.
My favorite (current) is the shoe Sidi Rama and / or the ball ... both of which are mountain bike shoes. I take the same shoe (in fact, I own two pairs ... one for roading and the other for off-road because the water / mud factor) on both bikes.
And I managed a respectable 18-20 miles each way (every day, county roads) for at least fifteen years.
My wife loves the simple cleat / shoe and unique approach ... She uses the female version of the same shoe Sidi mountain bike, but prefers SPD style pedals on both his bike.
Mountaineering boots work very well for the road to your needs. Road shoes are good because the cleat is larger and gives you a larger area for the transfer of power. catches of the road are also very slippery for those brake lights so you might as well stick with the shoes mt. When you get into longer distances you might consider the road shoe / cleat. I know that Mt spikes are not as comfortable for long distances. As the roadies laughing at you? They should.
