Hong Kong: Skechers JV aims to triple sales Skechers USA aims to triple its footwear sales in Hong Kong over the next three years with the creation of a new joint-venture distribution.
Skechers Hong Kong, a partnership with the fashion company Onewel group work in Hong Kong and Macau, and follows the launch of Skechers China Limited earlier this year.
Skechers Hong Kong has already started selling footwear lines of American society in its own retail stores and also sell them wholesale from spring 2009.
The company expects to add 200 new wholesale doors in the next two years, tripling sales in three years.
"There is a tremendous opportunity for SKECHERS to grow in Hong Kong," said Michael Leung, CEO of SKECHERS Hong Kong. "We expect SKECHERS to experience success in the new Hong Kong Thanks to the full range of styles now available. "

A gala opening was held to mark the launch of the first shop in West Kowloon Skechers August 16 - the first of eight planned openings in 2008.
Another 20 SKECHERS retail outlets are planned for the next two years.
SKECHERS Hong Kong will also open an office and showroom, with warehouse and office, in line with the recently completed offices in Guangzhou, China.
