Neither. White will make you look like a nurse. Black will make you look clueless. Instead, find a sock pattern that brings together your outfit. For example, if you wear a navy blue sweater with this, get some navy, white and blue denim or Wedgewood blue socks in a model that coordinates, like a polka dot Argyle traditional spiritual style. Or you could bring the butter yellow socks and coordinate this by wearing a yellow shirt and blue stripes. white shoes and black socks might work, but it would be harder to remove than to coordinate with a color shirt. Even if you have any black on top, I'm not sure if white shoes go with that. I would like, in this case at least consider a sock that has speckled black and white or at least one black with a white streak or something like that. In general, I think white dress shoes would be difficult to remove with a pair of jeans unless they are dull white jeans and boots paired with pastel or beige top, sweater, jacket, etc.
