use a stiff brush to remove as much as you can. then use a small piece of sandpaper or steel wool to remove the rest.

try saddle soap

There's really nothing you can do about it. You can take it with a needle, if a major piece is stuck. But next time you're wearing, you're back where you started.

There are "patches" you can buy to paint the edge of the leather sole, so if this part shows naked, you can paint on top to make it prettier.

I used to have shoes very well also with the same problem. I asked the shoe salesman what to do about it and he showed me his shoes. They had duct tape on the bottom and plastic valves. I have done since with excellent results
