If you are a beginner you planning to buy a new pair of skates then here are some basic tips to help you get started:

1.) Sizing factors

hockey skates should be of a size or two smaller than your normal shoes. Buy hockey skates that are the same size as your running shoes or sports may cause injuries such as blisters and sprains. Too much space for your feet move in a hockey skate free means that there are more possibilities to form a bulb or inaccurate movements during games or practice sessions. You must have the correct length and width right to have the size hockey skate right. Some people think they can compensate for a larger skate feet that actually require a greater length. This gives you an incorrect size skate and can cause serious injury.

3.) Radius of the blade

Radius of the blade is the amount of blade that is in direct contact with ice. If you are a beginner skater, it is recommended that you go to a larger radius blade. A radius of 5 inches should be a good choice. Greater stability radius increases maneuverability and aids along the surface of the ice.

4.) Break in time

How long the break occurs depends on many factors such as quality of the coating and the body weight of the actor among others. A heavier person will generally have a faster break-in period of an individual light. So if you have lighter weight for the body, try to go skate with a soft lining.

Hockey skates are supposed to be stiff. It's something you should know before buying hockey skates. Some people may choose to buy the cheapest hockey skates used in place of more expensive brand new. Keep in mind that the pads used may have lost their stiffness factor which is essential for a more powerful skating and support for the legs, feet and ankles.

Some hockey skates at low prices can be less rigid than most expens.
