I am 15 years old, and I have flat feet. Should I get surgery to repair? Yeah I had flat feet since I was born, and it becomes painful to walk for 30-60 minutes. Also, I have orthotics that I wore for a year, and they did not help either. I heard that Birkenstock shoes help, should I buy them? Or should I get surgery? Because when I'm older, your feet flat can cause back pain and arthritis.
not benefit from surgery
return to your doctor for other treatment options for
surgery should be used as an absolute last resort
It is amazing what modern science can do, but I have not heard of this type of surgery. While talking to a specialist for your concerns. Birk's shoes are very comfortable, they have no arch support in them. They may be comfortable for you, but they will not help "fix" your feet. Have you tried looking webmd.com? This is a nice web site that we use at the University of Iowa often for patient education.
I could help you fix your feet flat and it would involve you doing some exercises. If you are interested, send me k.sordo @ gmail.com
