Batman Slippers

I work in an elementary school and winter in this beautiful rainy country only allows children to play in the garden. So I'm always looking for activities to occupy children.

Last week, a rainy day, the children were not able to play in the garden, so I tried to entertain them by asking them what they wanted as a gift from St. Nicolas.

Belgian people - and in the Netherlands, Germany, France and some countries of Europe - to celebrate and consecrate Saint Nicolas (Sinterklaas) for children. San Nicolas is the big boss of schoolchildren and into our homes on December 6th.

A week before December 6th, every night, Saint Nicolas brings candy into the slippers of good children (traditional version) or one month before December 6th, he brings a lot more sweets in the slippers of our good children (which is the version commercial).

Belgian children generally receive clothing and books for Christmas.

It seems that children have an immoderate passion for video games consoles such as Playstation (3 course) and Wii ... while the heroes of American comics have become the heroes of Belgian children.

Girls aged 4 and 10:

- Books

Some of these kids love music and they have asked Saint-Nicolas or Santa Claus (sometimes both) to bring an electric guitar or drums.

A romantic young girl wishes to receive a newspaper like Bridget Jones.

As for my son for fifteen years, he has asked for books. What kind of books? Manga comics.

All children want to receive: chocolate, marzipan, candy, etc.

Finally, the traditions are important for our children: to Saint-Nicolas and no time for Christmas without candy.
