Why the MTA Green No. 6 (local) does not stop at the station Astor?

If you look at the map correctly, the No. 6 train (Green Line Local) to Astor Place stop dose Station. Only 4 and 5 trains (Green Line Express) by the passage of the Astor Place station.

I hope this information was very useful.

probably because you were raised and imagine things.

I can assure you, # 6 Lexington Avenue local train makes all local stops and express that includes Astor Place.

A better question might be why none of the Lexington Avenue trains stop at the now abandoned Worth Street, 18th Street, and the original City Hall station. At least it would be fair.

You have a situation where the No. 6 train does not stop you were at Astor Place.

Usually during rush hour or even during non-rush hours, if a train was delayed and other trains were backed up behind him, supervsion MTA may require the train operator for a particular train go jump several stations to try to get the calendar back in sync.

To answer the question Nooka: "A better question might be why none of the Lexington Avenue trains stop at the now abandoned Worth Street, 18th Street and the original City Hall station. At least it would be fair. "

The City Hall station was closed in 1945 (December 31). As the trains were lengthened platforms were lengthened. As City Hall station was so close to the Brooklyn Bridge station (and had a very low attendance), it was decided to close it. Another factor was that City Hall station is a very strong curve and the latest car doors are not aligned with the platform, leaving a huge gap. The car originally had two sets of doors with the door located at the ends of cars. These would be in line with the curved platform. When they added a center door and they had to use cars modified so that the center door would not open for mayor. Later models had the doors moved from end to end cars - the result was that no doors would be in line with the platform. All the above factors showed that it was easier to close the City Hall station, rather than trying to change it.

The same thing applies to the value Street and 18th Street. When the platforms at Brooklyn Bridge and 14th St. stations have been extended were so close to others that it was decided to close Worth St & 18th St.

Yes, it's done. Take a look at the map again.
