Being a specialty skate shop, we have developed and launched many unique systems to improve the performance of our customers skates. One of the many things we have done is developed and refined the concept of "alignment skate blades"
However, even after more than twenty years and thousands of 'Blade alignments "we are still often asked" what the heck is an alignment of the blade?
The simplest definition of an alignment of the skate blade is the positioning of a skate blade on a box so to be on foot and the biomechanics of the body skaters will be skating, or other words ... the positioning of the skate blade on the hull to ensure that skaters from the center of gravity falls directly on the blade.
Conceptually ... alignment of the blades on skates is the same as the alignment of wheels of a car. When done properly, the wheels (skate blades) as "right" and "true".
Skate blade alignment is not a new concept. In fact, the skaters have been aligning their blades for over 100 years. Because of our long history with figure skating we just used what we had done with figure skaters for many years, and applied to all skaters, including hockey and ringette.
Positioning of the blade to allow the biomechanical differences in your feet and your body takes skateboarding to the next level assembly. The proper alignment allows maximum control board, which helps you maintain no more effective way of turning capacity, stop stifling, larger intersections, etc. and will improve your overall skating performance.

The manufacturing process is not perfect, then re-assembling aa skate blade mounted on a boot from the manufacturer can make a huge difference in skating performance.
In a perfect world alignment of the blade should be done with the skater, in person, in this way a perfect alignment can be attained.However, shoes that were worn for a period of time, will show signs of aligning blades of the poor, if it can indeed be achieved without the skater. It may not be ideal, but significant performance improvements can be achieved anyway.
